The elections open at 12:00 a.m. Don't forget to vote.

I appreciate your consideration of me, Jamie McCloughan, for the office of Vice President Law Enforcement. As you know, for the first time in the APA's history an election will be decided electronically. Over the next few days, your votes will start to shape the direction of the APA. Those whom have met me know that I am not afraid of hard work or to do what is necessary to help move our profession forward with excellence, integrity, and fairness.

I have already submitted a written document, which was provided to you in the APA magazine. Rather than talk about me, I would like to provide you with a list of some of those who are supporting me, some of their comments regarding me, and my contact information at the end, so that you may contact me should you have a question.

John "Jack" Consigli Past APA President

Frank Horvath, Ph.D, Past APA President

Jamie McCloughan, a highly experienced and excellent polygraph examiner
for the Michigan State Police is seeking the position of Vice-President,
Law Enforcement in the APA. I strongly support his candidacy and, on
his behalf, ask you to support Jamie when you vote in the APA election.

A lot of attention is being given to the Forensic Science Community at
the federal level. The APA and the AAPP are working hard to be sure
that polygraph examiners who do forensic testing are not adversely
affected by whatever legislation and other developments arise. To my
knowledge Jamie McCloughan is one of the very few APA members/polygraph
examiners who actively works together with other forensic scientists in
a forensic crime laboratory. He has many years of experience in such
work. Recently, he has been responsible for seeking accreditation for
polygraph examiners and others in his laboratory. He is well aware of
what needs to be done by the APA and the AAPP and how the effort by
those groups must be organized. He will bring that knowledge to the APA
Board and his counsel on those important matters will be
invaluable....Frank Horvath, Ph.D.

Mr. Lynn Marcy Past APA President

John Pankonin Past Region II Director AAPP-
"I have known Jamie as a fellow classmate at polygraph school over 10 years ago. His integrity, commitment to educating others and dedication to our profession and association to strive for excellence are second to none. I strongly encourage you to consider James McCloughan as Vice-President, Law Enforcement for APA."

Don Grubin, Professor of Forensic Psychiatry, Newcastle University

"Those who use polygraphy in law enforcement settings can never be complacent regarding the credibility of polygraphy. It is important, therefore, that those in a position of leadership in relation to law enforcement settings are seen as being not only highly capable examiners, but that they also have an understanding of the science of polygraphy. Jamie McCloughan has both these qualities in abundance, and I strongly endorse him for the position of Vice President for Law Enforcement. As someone who does not work in law enforcement, but with them, I know how critical it is for polices and practice to be well informed by evidence. Jamie not only understands the evidence, but he has helped make it. He has also contributed to the advancement of polygraph testing in the country in which I work, England. I believe that as VP for Law Enforcement he will ensure that testing in law enforcement settings is retains its integrity, but also explores new ways of working."
